Alta Mesa Health & Rehab Technical Writing

This project involved me finding a real life client in the professional business world, and finding real life documents that needed all levels of editing, copyediting, global editing, and visual design. For my client, I chose my place of work, Alta Mesa Health & Rehabilitation. I began by contacting my supervisors and managers of the building, Brett King and Peris N. I asked them for documents that needed to be revised and updated, and they provided me with 5 different documents. These documents included Abuse rights, Transmission precautions, and resident rights. Because most of these documents were outdated and old, I began by editing all the correct dates, pay rates and new updated information to the building as of 2025. I then adjusted the pages alignment, font styles, and added photographic elements to bring the document more life and so it isn't bland. I inserted the company logo and added it to the top right corner of every single document so they can all look similar and have the same page content. I consistently referred back to Brett and Peris to ask if there was any additional information I needed to add, and if they had any specific suggestions they wanted on the documents. This assignment allowed me to demonstrate my technical editing skills, comprehensive editing skills, and ability to communicate with members of the organization.
